This section is offered directly through the Long Island Science Center. The cost per student per week is $15, 50% off for members.

Join us each week for a new engineering challenge. Students will learn about the engineering design process and apply it to their own projects.  We will discuss the field of engineering our project falls into each week and tackle a new building project together.  Students will bring their creative and critical thinking skills together brainstorm, prototype, and test their creations. Subjects will include geodesic domes, catapults, bridges, Rube Goldberg machines, vehicles, and more. Once the students have built and tested their designs we will then spend time reviewing the student's designs and revamping them to improve designs. Each week we will post the list of needed materials for the upcoming build. We will suggest household items and offer potential alternatives so the students can get creative.
