The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) celebrates Halloween with Spooky Fest! Taking place at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre, Long Island, sixteen acres of grounds are transformed into a family-friendly Halloween event.
Wooded paths, exhibits, and festivities on the preserve will be featured, with eerie lighting, special effects, and characters along the way. Everything is perfectly spooky and some are very scary. Creatures of all kinds inhabit the woods, the strange and beautiful will draw you into the eerie paths! (RAIN OR SHINE!)
Spooky Fest 2020 meets social distancing and CDC standards:
3 Weekends in October 2020!
$10 Admission Includes: Non-Scary Attractions
$15 Admission Includes: All Attractions
The Not-So-Spooky is “not at all spooky”. This walk through the woods is a colorfully lit Halloween story where children meet friendly Halloween characters. Butterflies, friendly ghosts, happy scarecrows, and many other displays await young children. Bring a camera because there are opportunities along this trail to take a family photo among the displays.
Scary Walk – The Woods are Haunted:
This Spooky Walk is “very scary”. This quarter-mile hike through the woods will leave kids clinging to their parent's legs. Every October the abandoned cemetery in the woods comes to life and a group of hikers have entered the woods against our caution and have not returned. We need you to go in and find them, or what’s left of them. The walk features an abandoned cemetery where zombies come to life and are in search of their favorite food, BRAINS! Located on Long Island, this Spooky Walk is a Nassau County favorite.
Kids Arts and Crafts Area:
Kids have an opportunity to create Halloween crafts and take them home!
